Thin Section Four Point Contact Ball Bearing

The thin-section four-point contact ball bearing is a precision bearing that combines the characteristics of “thin-section structure” and “four-point contact”, The Type-X 4-point contact thin section bearings are ideal for moment loading. This design is excellent for moment loading and reversing axial loading. The Type-X thin section bearings can be used for other light loading conditions,  but they are not an ideal solution for radial loads or combined radial and thrust loads.

Thin section bearings are designed to save weight, use less space, reduce friction, increase design flexibility and provide high running accuracy. Thin bearings are available in both Inch and Metric series.

Inner diameter(Inch series): 3/4 to 40 in                   Cross sections: 3/16 × 3/16 in to 1 × 1 in

ID diameter(Metric series): 20 ≤ d ≤ 360 mm           Cross sections: 8 × 8 to 20 × 20 mm

Material: bearing rings and rolling elements steel GCr15 or stainless steel 9Cr18

Precision levels: P0, P6, P5 and P4

Delivery time: 3-10 days(except customized)

What is thin section four point contact ball bearing?
Thin section four point contact ball bearings are mainly used to withstand radial loads, but when the radial clearance of the bearing is increased, they have a certain degree of angular contact bearing performance and can withstand combined radial and axial loads. When the speed is high and thrust bearings are not suitable, they can also be used to withstand pure axial loads. Compared with other types of bearings of the same size, this type of bearing has a small coefficient of friction and a high limit speed. But it is not resistant to impact and is not suitable for bearing heavy loads.   Type: thin section angular contact ball bearing ,thin section radial contact ball bearing, and thin section four-point contact ball bearing. Diameter: 0.5mm-50.8mm    
Features of four point contact ball
  1. The wall thickness of the inner and outer rings is significantly smaller than that of conventional four-point contact ball bearings, with greatly reduced radial dimensions and weight, adapting to the space constraints of miniaturized equipment.
  2. The single-row steel ball design can withstand radial loads, bidirectional axial loads, and overturning moments simultaneously, featuring a compact structure and uniform load distribution.
  3. The precision machining of raceways and steel balls ensures rotational accuracy (low runout), and the adjustable clearance design makes it suitable for precise rotating mechanisms (such as radar and optical instruments).
  4. The point contact form reduces friction resistance, generating less heat during high-speed operation, which is suitable for high-speed working conditions (such as servo motors and precision transmission systems).
  5. The thin-walled structure reduces the overall volume by about 30% to 50% (compared with conventional bearings) and lightens the weight, meeting the lightweight requirements of aerospace, robotics, and other fields.
