The slewing gear ring is a key component of slewing bearings in large equipment, realizing rotational movement through meshing with drive gears while bearing axial, radial forces, and overturning moments. It is widely applied in construction machinery, port equipment, wind power devices, etc.

Classified by gear ring position into external, internal, and toothless types, it commonly uses involute tooth profiles with hardened surfaces for wear resistance. Manufacturing requires high-precision equipment to ensure transmission accuracy and load capacity, while composite sealing designs enhance durability. It is often integrated with slewing bearings to form an “support + transmission” integrated solution.

What is Slewing Gear Ring? The slewing gear ring is a core transmission component for rotational motion in large rotating equipment (such as construction machinery and wind power equipment). It is a rigid ring structure with tooth profiles distributed on the inner side (internal tooth type, more compact) or outer side (external tooth type, easier for processing and maintenance) of the ring body according to design requirements. The ring body has a large thickness to bear the self-weight of the rotating parts of the equipment and the axial force, radial force, and overturning moment during operation. By meshing with the drive gear, it converts power into the rotational motion of the equipment (such as the 360° rotation of a crane turntable), while stably supporting the rotating parts and ensuring motion accuracy. It serves as the “power hub” for flexible rotation in equipment such as crane and excavator turntables, wind turbine yaw systems, and port crane slewing supports.
