  • Inner and Outer Rings: High carbon chromium steel (GCr15 / AISI 52100) for hardness and fatigue resistance
  • Balls: GCr15 / AISI 52100 bearing steel or, for high-speed applications, hybrid ceramic balls (Si₃N₄)
  • Cage: Pressed steel, brass, or polymer (PA66 reinforced with glass fiber) to maintain ball spacing and reduce friction

2. Housing Function: Encases the bearing and provides mounting support; ensures alignment and protects the bearing from external forces. Materials:
  • Cast Iron (QT450 / ASTM A48): Standard, high-strength, vibration-damping
  • Pressed Steel: Lightweight, cost-effective solution for small units
  • Aluminum Alloy (Al-Si): Used in lightweight applications or corrosive environments

3. Seals or Shields Function: Prevent contamination from dust, dirt, or moisture and retain lubricant within the bearing. Materials:
  • Nitrile Rubber (NBR): Standard seal for general applications
  • FKM / Viton: High-temperature or chemical-resistant applications
  • Steel-reinforced seals for structural rigidity

4. Locking or Mounting Components Function: Secure the bearing to the shaft and prevent relative motion. Materials:
  • Set Screws / Eccentric Lock Collars: Alloy steel with surface hardening
  • Tapered Adapter Sleeves: High-strength alloy steel

5. Lubricant Function: Reduces friction, wear, and heat generation, extending service life. Options:
  • Lithium-based grease for general industrial use
  • Synthetic high-speed grease for precision or high-speed applications
