Self-aligning roller bearings are a type of double-row roller bearing with a spherical outer ring raceway, providing self-aligning capability to accommodate shaft deflection or varying shaft misalignment. Main models include the 22200, 22300, 23000, and 24000 series, meeting heavy-load and high-impact requirements. Some models feature oil holes (W33) or tapered bores (K).

Main Materials of Self-Aligning Roller Bearings
1. Bearing Rings and Rollers
The inner ring, outer ring, and rollers are typically made from high-carbon chromium bearing steel (e.g., GCr15 / AISI 52100). This material provides:
  • High hardness after heat treatment
  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Superior rolling fatigue strength
  • Long service life under heavy radial loads
For demanding environments such as high temperature, corrosive, or food-grade applications, stainless steel (e.g., AISI 440C) may be used to enhance corrosion resistance.    
2. Cage (Retainer)
The cage material depends on load conditions and application requirements:
  • Pressed steel cage – Cost-effective, suitable for standard industrial applications
  • Machined brass cage – High strength, excellent impact resistance, ideal for heavy-load and vibration environments
  • Polyamide (nylon) cage – Lightweight, low friction, suitable for moderate load and higher speed applications
   
3. Seals (For Sealed Versions)
When supplied with seals, materials commonly include:
  • Nitrile Rubber (NBR) – Good oil resistance and standard temperature performance
  • Fluoroelastomer (FKM) – Suitable for high-temperature and chemically aggressive environments

Core Parameter Definitions and Code Explanations
  • Size Standard: ISO 15.
  • Self-aligning Angle: Generally, the relative tilt of the inner and outer rings is allowed to not exceed 3° .
  • Model Number Suffix Meaning:

                  CC: Optimized internal structure, reducing friction.

                  W33: The outer ring has oil grooves and three oil holes for easy lubrication.

                  K: Tapered bore, taper 1:12 (common); K30: Tapered bore, taper 1:30.

                  C3/C4: Internal radial clearance of the bearing (C3 is larger than the standard group, C4 is larger than C3).

  • Cage: Usually uses a pressed steel cage (Type E) or a machined brass cage (Type M).
