2. Outer Ring

Function:

The outer ring material is typically identical to the inner ring to ensure matched hardness and fatigue performance.

3. Rolling Elements (Balls)

Function:
Protect internal components from dust, contamination, and lubricant leakage.

Metal Shields (ZZ):

  • Material: Cold-rolled steel

  • Provide dust protection

  • Suitable for high-speed operation

Rubber Seals (2RS):

  • Material: NBR (Nitrile Rubber) bonded to steel reinforcement

  • Offer better sealing performance

  • Suitable for contaminated environments

For high-temperature applications, FKM (Viton) rubber may be used.

6. Lubricant (Grease or Oil)

Function:
Reduces friction, wear, and heat generation.

Typical Lubricants:

  • Lithium-based grease (general industrial use)

  • Synthetic high-temperature grease

  • Oil lubrication for high-speed precision use

Deep groove ball bearings come in a wide range of sizes, from miniature and small to large. Common sizes include 16022/C3 (bore diameter 110mm, limiting speed 5000r/min) and 16024/C3 (bore diameter 120mm, limiting speed 4800r/min), which include sealed (iron-sealed) and open designs, and are used in single-row steel or plastic constructions. Model designation: Typically consists of a series code (e.g., 60, 62, 63, 160) and an inner diameter code (e.g., 00 represents 10mm, 04 represents 20mm).

Sealing type: Open, iron seal (ZZ/2Z), rubber seal (2RS/2RSH/RS1).

Clearance class: C2 (less than normal), CN (normal), C3 (greater than normal), C4 (greater than C3).

Limiting speed: Sealed bearings typically have a lower speed than open bearings.
